The woman he insulted is his 1st officer, NOT the helmswoman.

And after being left behind for the first trip, Ms. 1st officer is the brave one and ready to lead everyone to save the captain.

AAAnd the aliens were kind enough to provide him with a blond, brunette and red head woman to choose between to make babies with...

I mean... come on. The fantastic 1st officer is one of the choices. Is there really a choice? #startrek #startrekTOS

They convinced the aliens that they would never be slaves and were released.

The moral is that if you're ugly you should not return to earth?

Number 1 is so done with Pike's shit. Her face when she replies "all decks are ready" speaks for all women. #startrek #StarTrekTOS

Episode 2: This is the bridge and crew I recognize! Lots of you shared articles about the change. I'll read those!

Kirk is MUCH more interesting than the guy playing Pike. Why did they think it was a good idea to make Pike hate being a captain and a jerk? #startrek #startrekTOS

Ok, I'll admit Shatner is actually very attractive.

I... was not expecting that.

They do portray Spock as a bit of an uncaring dick. If I didn't know about Vulcans already, he would seem like the bad guy.

I guess that explains some of the attitudes in #startrekENT

Kirk is the worst at explaining why this kid shouldn't slap women's asses.

The future space gym is pretty amazing.

Maybe start with some basic weight lifting before you start teaching the dangerous kid who is stalking a woman fighting techniques. #startrek #startrekTOS

Interesting hearing how they figure out if the kid is human based on bone structure since they didn't know about DNA.

Picking up where we left off... That ended up a heavy episode. The kid, after hurting so many, begging to stay with humans instead of spending the rest of his life with aliens who he can't even touch.

Also, I adore the checkerboard beehive hairdo. #startrek #startrekTOS

Ep 4 - The variety of sweaters on this starship is truly impressive.

They've found a black box from a ship called the Valiant. #startrek #startrekTOS

I have been vastly underestimating #StarTrekTOS

. Having never seen the show, I was expecting the level of cheese that I saw in the later movies.

This episode and the last are really interesting reflections on how humans act if they develop superior powers. #startrek

Repeated Adam & Eve imagery in these episodes. Ideas of what is "next" for humanity.

Shatner is actually really good. He really sells the show. Similar to the other captains that come later. For some reason I didn't expect that. #startrek #startrekTOS

They have some sort of plan with a mining operation. Not sure I understand since at some point they are going to run out of this magic drug.

And why is Blondy suddenly willing to betray her friends? #startrek #startrektos

Weird creepy pairing off with the three miners who don’t seem to care which woman they end up with... Blondy isn’t being sexy to the miners (because she likes Kirk, I think??) so they are fighting over the others.

Charming.

Now she’s acting all hysterical and running outside to her death.

I love this.

I’m... so confused.

So after planning to trick him into marriage, Blondy lectures the miner on how selfish he is for wanting a beautiful bride.

She proceeds to explain that women are good for other things... like cooking and caring for men.

I guess the other guys were tricked into marrying the other women? Showing the values of the time because the men are DOOMED! Divorce is not a thing.

And the homely woman grabbed the pills to become beautiful again. Instant full face of makeup and hair done.

I don’t care that it’s radioactive. I need some of this for cosplay. #startrek #startrektos

No! It’s a twist ending! It wasn’t the magic pills! She had it in her to be beautiful THE WHOLE TIME! She just needed to be confident.

Can I become confident enough for my makeup and hair to do themselves automatically??? #startrek #startrektos

And she decides to stay with the miner who yelled at her, called her homely, and was suspiciously defensive about not laying a hand on her. Because...

No idea? She’s self confident enough to have instant makeup but not to want a happy marriage.

So the moral of this episode is:

Ugly girls are good too! They can cook and clean for you, even if you are mean to them.

Back at my #startrek watching. This episode is called, “What are Little Girls Made Of?” ....

After the last episode, I am afraid...

This show really makes the audience mistrust beautiful women.

The android with the sexy coveralls is sure something.

Oh no! The man who got engaged to a student and then ditched her to hang out with a half-dressed Android ended up being evil?

Oh! That’s Gene Roddenberry wife! Neat!

OH!! And she is Lwaxanna Troi!! VERY COOL.

Weird to see her in such a meek role.

The androids rise up against their illogical masters. Is this one of the first times that storyline was used?

Twist! Rodger is an Android.

And coverall girl ends it all with a kiss and a phaser set to kill.

Next episode! “Miri”

The crew finds a duplicate Earth. Looks like a Fallout game when they beam down, complete with Ghouls.

Found a young girl named Miri! She must be important.

Kirk is telling her she is “very pretty” in a way that is meant to be kind but makes me uncomfortable.

I think the guards are put in red shirts on purpose. They are easy to see so make great targets. They draw fire from everyone else.

Kirk is flattering this kid again. Uhhh....

It’s ok though. There is a plague killing all the adults and he has it. Maybe he will die.

And now they are talking about how she is “becoming a woman” and likes Kirk.
