What’s a song that devastates you? Doesn’t matter the reason
So I was completely unprepared both Twitterly and emotionally for the response this would get. And Twitter is now saying I’m out of likes which sucks because I am loving what is being shared here
I’m reading every single one of these and I absolutely love the fact that music, no matter the genre, artist or style, speaks to us all like this. When they try to tell you we’re defined by our differences, we’re not. Music is our souls’ language no matter the dialect
And I guess I should share a few of mine. “Into the West” by Annie Lennox. My parents were huge LOTR nerds. The books and culture were ubiquitous in our house. When the movies came out they threw hobbit parties. When the extended cuts came to theatres we watched them all
My dad was the more technically in tune with music but my mom was more in tune with the feeling, and when they sang together everyone loved her voice. She loved every bit of those soundtracks. They moved her
When we buried her, I knew there was only one song we could play as we carried her home. So that’s one of mine
