The truth behind Chloe x Halle’s flopping career & why they’re overrated: a thread
For those who don’t know since they aren’t and won’t ever be mainstream, Chloe x Halle is an American R&B duo composed of sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey.
Before getting into music, the duo performed in minor acting roles before moving to Los Angeles in 2012. This is something that isn’t well known by even their stans since their acting roles made zero noise just like their music outside of stan Twitter.
After moving to Los Angeles the duo launched a YouTube channel at the ages of 13 and 11 respectively, with a cover of Beyoncé's "Best Thing I Never Had".
After gaining prominence with their YouTube videos and Disney projects, the duo independently released a four-track project titled Uncovered in September 2013. The release was made up of covers of the pop songs "Applause", "We Can't Stop" "Roar" and "Wrecking Ball".
While this might seem like no big deal, the truth is that they were clout chasing by doing covers of already popular songs because they couldn’t find their own sound and no one really cared about them.
After their December 2013 rendition of "Pretty Hurts" by Beyoncé went viral, Beyoncé herself decided to do charity for them and signed them to her management company, Parkwood Entertainment.
Despite Beyoncé’s charity, their debut EP Sugar Symphony and debut studio album The Kids Are Alright failed to chart on the Billboard 200. The reason for that is because the general public know they’re untalented no matter how hard their stans believe otherwise.
Then Ungodly Hour came, their supposed huge era. Personally I’ve listened to the album and it was one of the most boring albums I’ve ever heard in my entire lifetime. All the songs sounded the same and the “best” tracks on the album were just average at best.
The album was even promoted on Beyoncé’s Instagram account which is currently followed by 154M people but it still failed to reach the top 10 on Billboard 200 selling just over 24k first week. These sales are extremely disappointing for a second studio album.
“Do It” was the first single of Ungodly Hour and their only Billboard 100 entry. It peaked at #63 and even tho it didn’t do that great on the charts, it was still heard by a lot of people but to be honest, the song was just boring and that’s why no one listened to the full album
after the success of the song. This is later proven true once again after MTV did charity for them and let them perform “Ungodly Hour” only at the pre-show for the 2020 MTV VMAs.
Their fans also love to claim that they produce and write their songs but this is just simply not true and it’s another lie made up to prove that they’re talented when we all know they’re not.
This is a list of all the producers.
In conclusion, Chloe x Halle is one of the most overrated groups and won’t ever have their Little Mix moment. They’re just untalented flops and I hope their fans can finally realize it after this thread.
