Exposing Larry Rudolph the Red-Nose Liar, the man who sexualized Britney Spears and is managing her career against her will - a thread #FreeBritney
Larry Rudolph has been a central figure in Britney's life since he "discovered her" when she was 13 years old. Managing most of her career, Larry actually has an extremely checkered past that should concern everyone who is paying attention to the #FreeBritney movement.
Not only was he pursuing business with an extremely young girl, but Larry openly admitted in this interview that Britney was 15 and "becoming gorgeous" so he wanted to get her a record deal. What a creep! #FreeBritney
Britney was co-managed by Larry Rudolph and Johnny Wright through the late 90s and early 2000s. Here's Britney explaining what Johnny does for her, then she asks "What do you do, Larry?" #FreeBritney
Larry Rudolph was part of the reason why Britney was heavy sexualized in her early years. He said, "The record company wanted to keep things squeaky clean ... but it quickly became clear that it wasn't natural for her." #FreeBritney
Larry also pushed Britney harder than her body could handle. In this video around the time she broke her knee, she was complaining about pain in her leg and he said, "Girlfriend, you've got two more to go!" #FreeBritney
Britney fired Larry as her manger in 2004 because he was getting involved in her marriage with Kevin Federline. Maybe it was jealousy, but Larry never liked K-Fed and so he was out of the picture for the next few years. #FreeBritney
In fact, Larry wasn't invited to Britney and K-Feds wedding. #FreeBritney
During this time, Larry was shit talking Britney on AIM chat with Ruben who ran a fansite called World of Britney. He called it "my old nightmare" and said "that sweet southern girl thing is total bullshit." #FreeBritney
In November 2006, Britney divorces K-Fed and not a few hours later she's photographed skating at Rockefeller Center with... you guessed it, Larry Rudolph! #FreeBritney
Larry was with Britney celebrating her 25th birthday in 2006 when the paparazzi got a shot of her panty line. #FreeBritney
Britney posted this "letter of truth" on her website, saying it's been 2 years since she last celebrated her birthday and she probably did take her new found freedom a little too far. "Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secret's new underwear line!" #FreeBritney
Larry Rudolph was also there when Britney collapsed on New Years and had to be carried out of the club. He tried denying this report the next day. #FreeBritney
Around this time, Larry got Britney to sign onto a 5-year contract as her manager. "She says she didn't know what she was doing at the time, and can't stand him. But what can she do?" #FreeBritney
In February, Larry Rudolph, Kevin Federline and Lynne Spears pressured Britney into rehab saying if she didn't go, Kevin would take custody of their kids away from her. Professionals believed she was suffering from post-partum depression and never had a dirty test. #FreeBritney
In April 2007, reports started circulating that Larry's relationship with Britney was on the rocks. She fired him AGAIN and even filed a labor petition against him. #FreeBritney
Britney's alcoholic dad Jamie then went to the press and defended Larry, saying his daughter was "out of control" and Larry was "doing what her mother and father ... knew needed to be done" when he sent her to rehab. #FreeBritney
Britney wrote a letter of truth about all of this. "Recently, I was sent to a very humbling place called rehab. I truly hit rock bottom ... I had a manager from a long time ago come in and try to direct me ... I think the problem was letting too many people in." #FreeBritney
She continued, "I feel like some of the people in my life made more of some issues than was necessary. I also feel like they knew I was beginning to use my brain for a change and cut some ties, so they wanted to be in more control of my life than me." #FreeBritney
In an email to her father, Britney allegedly said the biggest mistake she made after her divorce was letting Larry into her hotel room. She said, "it's really strange to have a manager send you to rehab whos the main one giving you the drinks." #FreeBritney
In this video, Britney says her management "totally knew what they were doing when they sent me to rehab" in a sarcastic way. She is believed to be talking about Larry Rudolph and Lou Taylor. #FreeBritney
All of this crap started causing Britney's life to spiral in 2007. The paparazzi stalked her, the media trashed her and K-Fed was able to convince the courts to take her kids away and give him full custody. #FreeBritney
In February 2008, Jamie Spears went to court and put Britney under a "conservatorship" deeming her unable to make decisions about her finances and personal affairs and giving him the power to make those decisions. #FreeBritney
Two months after being placed in the conservatorship, guess who's back? Yep, it's Larry Rudolph. The man twice-fired by Britney was rehired by her father to manage her career, possibly against her own will. #FreeBritney
Larry said Britney was "doing great" despite the fact that she was under a conservatorship and admitted he was with her father when he first saw her again. #FreeBritney
Under Larry's management, Britney went into the studio right away - quickly ramping up to 5 times a week. This was completely inappropriate considering the court had just deemed her so unwell that she couldn't make her own decisions, yet they had her working. #FreeBritney
Here is all the work Britney was doing almost immediately after being put under a conservatorship and deemed unable to make her own decisions. #FreeBritney
Britney Spears would go on to release her Circus album and became the most awarded woman of the night at the 2008 VMAs, still considered a ward of the state of California. #FreeBritney
Rolling Stone did a great piece: "Britney Spears Returns ... but what has the comeback cost her?"

Larry was interviewed and claimed he "is not allowed to talk about the conservatorship." He also said Britney's next step in recovery is... "a new boyfriend"? Wtf. #FreeBritney
Larry was critical in the development of Britney's "For the Record" documentary, where she was allowed to speak openly about her situation. #FreeBritney
But when you listen to what Britney actually says in the documentary, it sounds more like an indictment of the conservatorship than anything he described. #FreeBritney
In 2009, Lindsay Lohan's dad broke up a similar scheme to put his daughter under a conservatorship and specifically called out Larry Rudolph and Lou Taylor! #FreeBritney
Oddly, during Britney's Femme Fatale Tour, Larry Rudolph gave back 2% of his cut to Jamie Spears because he's done "such a great job." Meanwhile, Britney is still under a court-ordered conservatorship. #FreeBritney
In 2013, a young Miley Cyrus hired Larry Rudolph as her manager. Similar to Britney, he was a part of the reason she was highly sexualized during this time. #FreeBritney
In this article around the opening of Britney's Vegas residency, Larry said he doesn't really have a job description as Britney's manager and admitted they "don't agree on everything." #FreeBritney
Britney dumped water on Larry for the ALS ice bucket challenge and said it was "for the 17 years of torture you put me through." Also notice how he nominates Lou Taylor? #FreeBritney
Britney's Vegas Residency ended on New Years 2017 and Larry was confident about the future. He said Britney might return to the stage or release an album. Keep in mind Britney was still deemed unfit to manage her own life and decisions at this time. #FreeBritney
A second Vegas Residency called "Domination" was announced and Larry Rudolph was doing press about it as late as December 27th, 2018, less than a week before it was cancelled. #FreeBritney
Larry Rudolph pushed the narrative that the new residency and Britney's next album would be delayed "due to her father Jamie's health struggle." #FreeBritney
But an anonymous paralegal who worked on Britney's conservatorship case revealed to #BritneysGram that wasn't true at all! They faked her dad's illness as an excuse to put her in a mental health facility against her will. (Remember, he has the power to do that!) #FreeBritney
The source confirmed Larry Rudolph "very much so" had a hand in putting Britney in the mental health facility and said "at the very least this will help with ticket revenue when we re-announce Vegas." #FreeBritney
While Britney was in the mental health facility, Larry Rudolph won screen rights to make a movie off a Britney Spears Broadway musical that was in the works. #FreeBritney
By this point, the #FreeBritney movement was in full force. Fans were protesting outside the courtroom all the pieces were starting to come together.
Larry went into damage control, saying Britney may never perform again and they had to pull the show because her meds weren't working. But wait, didn't he just say it was because of her dad's illness? #FreeBritney
When asked if she would ever perform again, Britney directly contradicted Larry and said "of course!" #FreeBritney
Larry then tried to clarify his comments saying he is "not sure if or when she will ever want to perform." Doesn't that sounds like something a manager should know before speaking on the matter? #FreeBritney
Then in an interview with the Washington Post, Larry defended the conservatorship saying it's "not a jail." What happened to him "not being allowed" to speak about it? #FreeBritney
David LaChapelle, one of Britney's music video directors, said it best when he nicknamed him "Larry the Red-Nose Liar" and we probably couldn't have put it any better. #FreeBritney
In conclusion, Larry Rudolph can't be trusted. He lies, sexualizes young girls, was a huge part of Britney's 2007 issues and now he's using Britney's conservatorship for his own profit and has been for over 12 years. It's time for this to end. #FreeBritney
