Sure, I have a ton to do at home. And I have a project deadline coming up. But the dog needed a walk and the sun was out, so we went looking for the kingfishers by Spencer Island. And we found one. 1/6
These birds are described as “scruffy” but I think they have moxie. 2/6
I couldn’t got them doing acrobatics over water with a heavy camera and dog on leash, but I tried. 3/6
There was a small flock of waxwings working a crabapple tree. This one didn’t get as badly nailed by rust this year as mine did, so it had a lot of fruit. 4/6
We watched them for awhile. There were juveniles in the group. They should be migrating soon, I think. 5/6
There were always big adults keeping guard. This area has a decent number of predators. They would signal and the flock would flutter out of the shrubbery.
