to summarize their definition of women, “a woman is either an individual assigned female at birth with no desire to transition or an individual assigned male at birth who can only live a fulfilling life if she transitions”. that’s a pretty rigorous definition, actually.

the original poster of this two picture “gotcha” seems incapable or, more likely, unwilling to actually follow a simple train of thought. if a woman is either a cis woman or a trans woman, the definition of a woman is best given as filling either one of those definitions.

they only don’t recognize these as definitions because to do so would be inconvenient to their own rhetoric. the only people who cannot find a definition here are the people who want to exclude a significant portion of it and so won’t entertain the idea that it could be one.

which simply had multiple levels of explanation. they waved it off as not being anything close to what it is, so they could feel superior, and i would like to reiterate, were so sure that others would agree that they willingly shared those thoughts of dismissal...

as well as some of the credentials of the definition-giver in question as if they would not in any way detract from negative assumptions about them, and then shared the given definition as evidence of the lack thereof.

it is rampant, repeated, and full denial. there is no willingness among this particular sort of transphobe to listen to anyone who disagrees, to debate in good faith, to admit their bigotry, or to consider for a moment that they are wrong.

remember when you talk with them that you are NOT engaging directly with them to change their minds. it is not an argument in the sense we’ve been taught to think about it, and it’s impossible to win it as one against a group so willingly stubborn.
