So last night I stayed up till 2am, reading, watching, thinking about and researching $NNOX. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as others on the subject, but here are my thoughts. A thread 👇
Firstly, as a disclaimer, I own shares in the company after listening to a @themotleyfool podcast on it. I was very excited about the company, and within a couple of days was up 70%. "This game is easy!" I'm telling myself. Then just as quickly a couple of short reports come out.
Next thing you know I'm down 30% and am wondering where to next. I'm a teacher, and school holidays have just started, so last night I decide to go indepth a bit. I like to try and convince myself out of buying stocks, but last night I watched this https://wsw.com/webcast/oppenheimer5/nax/2497527
Boy, was I sold on it! I love the fact $NNOX isn't trying to take over the existing market. They're wanting to make it accessible for more people which appeals as an investor and as a humanitarian.
The bull case is strong *IF* $NNOX gets FDA approval. First units deployed in 2021, FDA often good enough for other countries, and they have an FDA expert as an advisor. Surely this is good to go, right?!
The presentation was a sales pitch. Pure and simple. And it was good. The numbers $NNOX claim they can put out are very good. Their goal is 15,000 units by 2024. They say they have contracts for ~5000 and agreements for another ~5500 already.
(As a New Zealander, I'm just going to let the fact that despite New Zealand having ordered some of these, New Zealand isn't on the $NNOX map. I took the liberty of drawing it in myself 😂)
And look at these numbers. The minimum 7 scans per day that $NNOX require means decent income, the 20/day they aim to get is amazing, the 60/day they potentially could get is mind blowing.
As for $NNOX moat - fair to say it's good. Because they're not going after the big boys, the big boys likely won't try to stop them...yet. Not easy for anyone to enter the space either, but no doubt if this is successful, someone will try in time.
So all in all I was super impressed and ready to throw $NNOX all my money. Said as much in a tweet last night too. But then I thought I should try and convince myself out of it. I did an ok job too. I read most of the Muddywaters report and the Citron report.
The main thing that I agreed with is the lack of images that $NNOX have put out. Yes, they are there, but why so few? If you're going public and you have a working product, surely that's the main thing you put out? And the ones that are there, how do we know they're real?
We don't, and we, as average Joe's and Jane's, probably can't know for sure they are real. A non-promo video of it working, including a photo of the scanned image would be good. I don't like promo videos and they actually make me less confident.
Another thing brought up by the report is that some of the distributors that $NNOX have on board are dodgy and won't be able to deliver on their numbers. I'm less worried about that. If they have a product that works, it'll sell. That much I do believe.
Annther thhng that had me worried was this
My 2am conspiracy theorist brain felt that it was a same-same-but-different product to NNOX, and therefore possibly NNOX had a product they were developing 5 years ago that has since changed tact a bit.
i.e. the initial idea was to create a cancer treatment machine and then they changed to a x-ray machine.
I'm looking into that woman a bit more now, and she seems legit, along with her machine (Nano-x), which looks pretty near exactly the same as NNOX. https://www.sydney.edu.au/research/opportunities/supervisors/1772
What's your take on this @BrianFeroldi? We've got two machines that look exactly the same, have exactly the same name and have a really similar goal, but with key differences. @poliakine are you able to speak to this?
Would love to hear from @TerraPharma1 @StockMarketNerd @MattG5289 @JohnNosta with your thoughts on this other company.
So, all in all, I'm a massive fan of $NNOX. If this company is legit, then I'm in, big. Yes, their numbers may not turn out to be as good as they hope (there were some concerns around that on the presentation) but if this is actually a thing, it's a massive game changer.
After some good interchange with smart people I respect on here, I think best case scenario is that it goes as $NNOX plan and its a gold mine. Worst case is that they're not nearly as advanced as they say and are using this to get funding to keep working on their tech.
Does that mean I'll invest money at market open tomorrow? Probably a little bit more to average down, but there are lots of other companies I'm interested in right now which are a lot safer than $NNOX.
