It's Taylor Swift & Joe Alwyn's FORTH ANNIVERSARY together today, So here's a thread about them cause it's their special day;

Joe & Taylor met for the first time in April 2016 at The Bowery gastropub located at the intersection between 'Sunset' Boulevard & 'Vine' Street, Which is explicitly revealed in the song 'Gorgeous'. At that time Joe was in town for the reshoots of his first movie Billy Lynn.

It's believed that they met through common friends, As Joe’s co-star Garrett Hedlund is a friend of Caleb Followill, who is Lily Aldridge's husband, She's one of Taylor’s best friends. But as nothing confirms this 100% it's still just a speculation.

Taylor & Joe started as just friends but Taylor had a little crush on him, As what she told a fan at the Rep ss. Which explains Taylor's lyrics in Dress 'I don't want you as a best friend'. She also revealed that whenever Joe texted her in their early days, she used to spazz out.

On May 2nd, Joe & Taylor attended the Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Which is also mentioned in the song Dress 'Flashback when you met me, Your buzzcut and my hair bleached'

Later the same year, Joe & Taylor officially started dating on 28th September. And this's why it's believed it's '28th'; When Taylor released her cover of the song 'September' by Earth, Wind & fire band she changed the lyrics from 'The 21st night' to 'The 28th night of September'

And explaining why she chose 'September' song to cover Taylor said that she chose it for sentimental reasons. And notes that the month of September is especially meaningful to one of her relationships.

Moreover, On a Polaroid taken of Taylor on the 29th of December, There were 3 'X's written on it which most likely refers to the 3 months Taylor has spent with Joe. The Polaroid was released in Reputation magazines.

On November 11th when Joe's first movie 'Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk' came out, Taylor went with her mom Andrea & a couple of friends to watch it at the Arclight Theatre in LA.

On Taylor's birthday, Dec 13; Joe gifted her a silver 'J' necklace from Tiffany & Co. In 'Call it what you want' which was about Joe, Taylor says 'I want to wear his initial on a chin round my neck'. Taylor didn't take the necklace off during 2017 or 2018.

In the Lover mv, There's a Tiffany box seen on the table when Taylor was celebrating her birthday with her lover.

In the Rep waiting room Taylor had custom sugar cookies of her J necklace.

In 2017, Taylor liked a post on Tumblr that said that she never takes that necklace off.

Taylor performs 'Come back, Be here' in Toronto on the Rep tour with her J necklace & changes the lyrics from 'I guess you're in New York today' to 'London'

Taylor also wore it while performing in London. In Manchester her Mom was seen wearing it till she finished performing.

On January 3, 2017; Taylor writes in her journal about her relationship with Joe, These pages were later released in her Lover deluxe 4th edition

Couple of months later when Taylor was filming 'Ready for it' mv, She asked the director to place '91' & '89' next to each other, Which are her & Joe's birth years. She also punched in the numbers 21 in the keypad scene & Joe's birthday is Feb 21st

When the news of Taylor & Joe's romance hit the news, Taylor's friend Ed Sheeran was asked about what he thinks of Joe, And he said "He's really nice. Really really friendly, really good dude. We're in touch quite a fair bit, And Taylor's been in London quite a bit as well"

Todrick Hall was also asked about Taylor & Joe's relationship in 2017, And he said “Taylor's the happiest I've ever seen her. I love it”. He later revealed in another interview in 2018 that he's met Joe & he thinks he is a lovely person.

On September 9th 2017, Taylor liked a post on Tumblr that said “She's finally with the right guy” as well as a couple of other posts about Joe.

Shortly before 'Reputation' release the secret sessions took place, During them Taylor revealed some things about her & Joe. She told a fan that her cat Meredith loves Joe. She also told a couple of other fans that she showed Joe some of their Tumblr posts & they kept laughing.

During Rep secret sessions, Taylor's dad expressed how happy he was that Joe & Taylor have been dating for 9 months without the media knowing, And his fav song from Rep is 'Dancing with our hands tied' which Taylor wrote about Joe.

During the ss, Taylor was about to play RFI mv, Her laptop screen was being projected on the tv, And the background was a pic of her & Joe, Another fan revealed that she was in a pink wig in the pic, Which is similar to a pic that can be seen in the reputation magazine

Another Polaroid of Joe which he posted on IG in Jan 2017 can also be seen in the background of the same picture that was included in reputation magazines. Moreover, Taylor revealed to a fan during a ss that Joe was the one who took all those pics of her cats in the magazines

In the reputation magazines, Taylor credits “Frosty Crew Photography” for taking all her personal pictures, Who is Joe. As she confirmed it to a fan during a rep tour meet & greet later in 2018. It also turned out that all those pics were taken in her rental house in London.

In another pic included in the reputation magazines (also taken by Joe) Taylor can be seen playing scrabble, She later revealed to a fan how she plays it with Joe all the time in a meet & greet in 2018.

In the BTS of 'End game' mv, Taylor was talking about playing online scrabble with Joe “He played me in Scrabble...I can wait. I’ll make him wait. It’ll make him sweat, he’ll get stressed, he’ll be like ‘what’s she gonna play next? Is she gonna get that triple word?”

Earlier this year, When Miss Americana came out Taylor credited 'Frosty Crew Photography' (aka Joe) once again for the archival footage.

When reputation was released on Nov 11th, Taylor tweeted pics of fans holding the album, And included a pic of one of Joe's friends in her tweet.

On Nov 13th 2017 at the reputation release party in NYC, Taylor wore a Pisces constellation ring which is Joe's zodiac sign (Taylor is a Sagittarius).
Also, On March 31st 2019 at 'Cats' wrap party, She was seen wearing a ring with Joe's initials 'JA'.

On Dec 8th, Taylor performed at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in NYC & 2 days after shs performed at Capital FM’s Jingle Ball in London, Joe attended both her shows. Joe was spotted by fans recording Taylor during 'shake it off' that night.

A fan shared a (then) new pic with Joe from London, And he could be seen wearing the same jacket Taylor’s worn in the reputation magazines pics.

On March 12th 2018, Delicate mv was released & a sign of “Joe’s Deli” can be seen behind Taylor in one of the scenes. Later in July on the rep tour, Taylor invited two fans who were holding the same sign “Joe’s Deli” to meet her backstage in the rep room after the show.

Speaking of Delicate, Taylor told a fan she was worried that Joe might judge her based on her reputation but he didn't. Which was surly the inspiration behind the song. Also, in Delicate vertical version Taylor pointed to her 'J' necklace when she said 'You must like me for me'.

One day before the reputation stadium tour started, Joe & Taylor spent the day together, As they shared matching photos on Instagram (But Joe's account was private at that time) and Taylor captioned it "Today I met a cactus".

On 8th May the reputation stadium world tour started. Taylor revealed to a fan in the rep room that “it calms her down so much knowing that Joe is in the audience”

Joe was there to support Taylor on 5 shows of the rep tour, Sometimes joined by his family or friends.

1 // Joe attended the opening night of reputation tour with his mother in Glendale, AZ. They entered the stadium with Taylor's parents & they were seen talking during the show. Jack Antonoff who also attended, hugged Joe after the show as they left the stadium together.

2 // On 9th June Joe attended Manchester show with Patrick, His younger brother.

3 // On June 22nd, Joe & Patrick attended London first show.

That night, Swifties held up signs saying 'Proud' for Taylor Taylor later revealed to a fan that this project made her mom Andrea & Joe so emotional.

4 // On June 23rd, Joe attended London second show joined by his family. According to fans who attended, Taylor pointed at Joe during Dress, Gorgeous & Call it what you want. And his mom was interacting with her throughout the show.

5 // On July 22nd, Joe & his family attended the Metlife show. Joe was seen waving to Taylor during Delicate.

During reputation tour meet & greets, Taylor talked about Joe with some fans. She said to Lauren Lipman (A YouTuber/Swiftie) that “He’s the best” when Lauren told her that she was happy for them.

Additionally to Rep tour & Jingle bell concerts, On 11th July 2019, It's believed that Joe attended Taylor's Amazon Prime Day concert. As in Ashley Avignone’s IG story Gigi Hadid could be heard saying 'She can't stop looking at him' as Taylor was looking at a certain direction.

Add to that, Joe is a supporter of Taylor's political activism. In 2018, Joe was asked about Taylor's political stance and he said “I think it’s great, I think it's important.”

Joe also liked Taylor's political tweets, Despite being mostly inactive on Twitter.

On Sep 28th 2018 (Their 2nd anniversary), Taylor attended Joe's movie 'The favourite' premier in NYC. And when the movie came out in Nov, Taylor shared an IG post & story supporting it.

On Feb 10th 2019, Taylor skipped the Grammys & attended the BAFTAs after party to support Joe, As 'The favourite' was nominated for 12 awards that night and won 7 of them. Taylor then shared a post on IG celebrating the movie's big win.

On Dec 30th, Taylor & Joe were out with friends in NYC, When Joe turned his body & walked backwards to protect Taylor from paparazzi.

On Jan 7th 2019, Taylor & Joe attended Golden Globes after parties together.

On August 16th, Lover lyric video was released. In a scene, Taylor can be seen wearing a blue cap with the initials 'WH', A year later Joe shared an IG story of him wearing the same cap.

In Dec 2018 Joe revealed to L'Officiel USA that his favourite colour is blue. Later, When Lover (album) came out on 23 August 2019 the tracks were like the following:

Plus, 'Oh damn never seen that colour blue' in Delicate (reputation).

On Oct 6th 2019, Taylor was a special guest on SNL, Joe was also there with her. And they were seen arriving together at the SNL after party.

While performing Lover on SNL, Taylor was looking at Joe in the audience.

On Dec 17, Joe attended Taylor's movie 'Cats' premier in NYC.

On Dec 20 Joe was asked in an interview if he minds Taylor writing songs about him & he said “No, not at all. No. It’s flattering”

He added that he prefers Taylor’s version of events because 99.9% of what the press write about them is false, According to Sunday times journalist.

In the same IV, Joe talked about dealing with the tabloids' stories about him & Taylor “I don’t pay attention to what I don’t want to pay attention to. I turn everything else down on a dial, I don’t have any interest in tabloids. I know what I want to do & that’s what I am doing”

On Jan 6th 2020, Taylor & Joe attended Golden Globes together (but attended the red carpet separately). And they were also seen together at the after party.

On Jan 31st Taylor's documentary Miss Americana came out. In a scene from the documentary, A pic of Joe and one of the ladies (aka cats) could be seen on Taylor's phone.

On Feb 2nd, Taylor lurked a fan account of Joe on Instagram to check his pics from the BAFTAs, She viewed @/joealwynonline story (And I'm still shocked she did that).

On Feb 12th, Taylor attended the NME awards in London and Joe was there to support her. There were a couple of videos taken of them by fans that showed Joe setting next to Taylor during the event.

On 29th April, Joe shared pics of Benjamin Button on his IG stories. When Taylor was asked by a fan at the Lover secret sessions about Benjamin, Taylor answered “he's with his dad”

On 24th July, Taylor released Folklore, Surly y'all know about the theory that 'William Bowery' who wrote 2 songs with Taylor on the album might be Joe. Although this's just a speculation, these're the reasons why it's believed William is Joe in case you missed them;

— As mentioned earlier in the thread, Taylor & Joe met for the first time at 'Bowery' gastropub in NYC.
— Joe is also the great-grandson of English composer 'William' Alwyn.
—When Taylor announced Folklore, She tagged all the people who worked on it with her except William Bowery

William's account wasn't linked in Taylor's post.
— Fans who received singed folklore booklets said that some of them had the initials “WB” written on the page of exile lyrics. (I mean everyone was quarantined right? How/why would William reach out to Taylor to sign them?)

Additionally, Joe was there for Taylor during her Sexual Assault Case in 2017 & that robbers situation in 2019. He didn't speak up about it obviously cause they keep their relationship private, But surly he supported her in person.

In 2017, Taylor visited a fan's house in London with Patrick Alwyn (Joe's younger brother). The girl who Taylor visited is Patrick's friend sister.

In 'LWYMMD' mv, Taylor wore a new version of the Junior Jewels shirt & Patrick's name was written on her left shoulder. Later Taylor liked a Tumblr post saying 'Patrick You're doing amazing sweetie' with a pic of her from the sets.

In 2017, Taylor helped painting Patrick's room, Which was explicitly revealed in paper rings “Which takes me back to the colour that we painted your brother's wall”. Taylor gets on well with Joe's family as well.

Joe's normal & balanced life was one of the reasons why Taylor was attracted to him, As she addresses that in her documentary Miss Americana “I also was falling in love with someone who had a really wonderfully normal, balanced, grounded life.” (1/2)
