One of the biggest disappointments for me over the past few years has been the stubborn refusal of so many in @GOP to speak out against President Trump's bullying. Sadly, this includes my congressman @RepBrianFitz .

With everything else going on, why is this important?
Trump's freedom to abuse and bully and threaten with impunity sets an example. School children know they can get away with it as well.

It is well documented that there has been a sharp increase in bullying and violence commensurate with the President's example.
@RepBrianFitz knows this; his office has acknowledged it publicly and has admitted they understand it's linked to Trump.

The mental health repercussions are terrible. Teen suicide had started to decline. Then came Trump; boom, teen suicide rates spiked.
That's probably not because teens felt despair over his policies; it *is* at least partially linked to the increase in bullying that - again - spiked when Trump took office and normalized abusive behavior.

And @GOP , and @RepBrianFitz , sat by quietly and said, "that's fine".
When vulnerable children and young adults see the example set by the country's leader, AND see their political representatives defending that abuse - and, yes, @RepBrianFitz has defended it - they feel they have no hope of escape when they are the victims of bullying.
The final indignity in @RepBrianFitz's district is his cynical exploitation of community engagement with his "One Community" slogan.

One community means defending your neighbor; standing up to the bully; condemning them. It is the strong standing with the weak.
@RepBrianFitz won't. He's refused to condemn Trump's rhetoric and bullying and calls to violence. Constituents have asked him to set an example; he's replied, quote, "it's a distraction".

He knows better. He simply doesn't value helping vulnerable constituents.
