If you want to understand what's wrong with the U.S. right now, it isn't much more complicated than this: through a series of crimes, ignominious political operations, and unconscionable detours from tradition, the *minority* party in America—the GOP—has seized control of power.
You're always going to have widespread dissatisfaction, chaos, and instability in a nation when the will of its people is repeatedly thwarted by a minority party that acts without conscience, patriotism or fidelity to rule of law—motivated only by a thirst for power at all costs.
The GOP has been losing the battle of ideas in the U.S. for a half-century—even as it's repeatedly nominated more Supreme Court justices than the Democrats, taken the White House after elections in which the Democrats won the popular vote, and suppressed millions of lawful votes.
Republicans had a choice: they could accept their minority-party status; they could evolve their platform to be where the majority of the American people are; or they could try to steal elections, Supreme Court seats and—among much else—Americans' healthcare. They chose the last.
