Never seen anybody receive so much (online) abuse for just not having the legs as @Rogla has gotten twice in past 8 days. Not for doping, not for rule-breaking, not for lying, not for litigating, but simply for not having the legs. Wouldn't blame him if he takes some time off now
Of course just my opinion, but it seems going for Grand Tours doesn't necessarily make a cyclist happier. Chances of winning one, especially TdF, are infinitely small. And if you happen to narrowly not win because it's just f'ing hard? You're immediately crucified by the "fans"
And honestly, I liked Roglic more as the attacker he was before. But again: It's his career, his decision, his life and most of all… his legs, which he alone feels
Rewatched from the point the group of 5 (van Aert, Roglic, Hirschi, Kwiatkowski, Fuglsang) formed till the point Alaphilippe finished. Of the time that group was on camera, Roglic did 16.1% of the work. Keeping in mind the group was only on camera 38.5% of the time, that's normal
And again: Note that we're only seeing a third of what's happening in that group of 5. If the camera cuts on just at the point rider X peels off from a 15sec pull, he only gets 1 sec in the count, while he actually did 14 more
Just for those who are wondering: "How can he do a 1s / 2s pull?" That's actually not what it says. It says that only 1s / 2s of his pull was **on camera**. It could have easily been 15s pulls, but we just didn't see. The camera just cut in while he was peeling off or taking over
Ok girls and guys, I'm off now. If you REALLY need a reply, let me know tomorrow. If you just want to spout your unsubstantiated opinions and frustrations without actually adding anything valuable… maybe reconsider? Forewarned is forearmed 😉
