So, Coco and Haachama got suspended from streaming for 3 weeks, because they checked their Youtube& #39;s analytics which shows Taiwan separately from China, which angered Chinese viewer.

This is unfair and people should be up in arms...

But it& #39;s time for a reality check:
Cover is a company, a Jimusho, a hard cold one, no matter how "wholesome" their VTubers are.

A Jimusho will always prioritize their market position/stability over anything, even their talent, if anyone follows the Japanese entertainment scene...

They know this is nothing new
A contract with a Jimusho is predatory, as putting it simple, it usually works as:

"You make a contract with us, we provide you the tools and platform to be famous, but we determine your value"

Yes, your cute Vtubers all have a "value" attached to them given by cover-
- This value determines their entire earnings.
Remember the "Cover takes 50% of superchats after YT takes their cut"?
It doesn& #39;t work like that.

No Vtuber will reveal this information, because it would then be a breach of contract and that& #39;s when it gets awful-
Because of how Jimushos are, acts that jeopardize the company in ANY way, are usually seen as a major insult to their "Good Will" ("We& #39;re helping you grow and this is how you pay us?!!")

And because this is a general sentiment in the industry, this puts anyone in this scenario-
- in a position where they& #39;re attaching an "untrustworthy" label in the eyes of entertainment scene... no matter how famous you are, no matter how big you are.

We& #39;ve seen many cases of super talents ghosted by the entire industry because of this.

This is the reality
Cover has a Chinese division, in the grand scheme of things, they want to secure their position in this market.

They will react to any act that puts in danger this position, no matter how popular the talent behind the "drama" is...

The Chinese market is too big to ignore...
It sucks?
Yes, it does.

Things should change?
Yes, totally

People should raise their pitchforks?
YES!

But so you know that at the end of the day, Cover is just another company in the grand Japanese Entertainment scene...

And in this scene, your favorite Vtuber is expendable
