The QC government finally released stats about Covid outbreaks.

The first thing to note: We don't have enough people to call people with results, let alone contact tracers. Many people called never answer the phone or get tested.

Second: they're only disclosing half the information they have.

Sometimes I wonder if they are refusing to collect information so they won't be held accountable for bad decisions.

In this case: they're simply refusing to share information that's presumably available. Shameful.

Third: what little information shows the outbreaks are mostly not private gatherings.

Yet, they are giving us a 28 day challenge of no fun or parties, just work and school... We have to consider that they could be blinded by ideology.

A long time ago some beaches were closed while businesses were open, contrary to what a simple risk analysis would suggest.

Die at work, don't party: protestant work ethic or authoritarian late-stage capitalism. Ideology either way.

They know they're sending people to die. It's not that they don't care: they just think this is the natural order of things. Better risk death than stay at home on welfare!

Conversely, having gatherings with friends is unproductive so not worth risking death for.

Eradicating the virus first would be better for the economy, but trying to convince this government of that truth may not be possible.

Because on top of having toxic unexamined values, they're also mediocre, parochial thinkers.
