I have to thank some ADOS folks who are dealing with an angry person I had some words with last night regarding a #DivestTwitter post. (Divest is a nightmare that won't go away!) @AdosGrievances @SonMemphis @Ronmc999 and probably other people I don't even know about are fielding
complaints about me that seem to stem from two things. Before I mention them, I want to thank these folks and all of you in the #ADOS movement who allow me in this space. I know I am an ally, not related by lineage, & that I'm here as long as we are moving in the same direction.
Having a white friend can be like having an uncle who used to do B&Es and you bring him to parties and people are like, "You let him into my HOME?" Racism doesn't go away. It's a virus. At best, white people can only keep it under control. As long as I am, and as long as the
generosity of the #ADOS family allows, I get to stay at the party. I have always understood that.

@RadFemGida has a problem w/me. She won't say exactly what it is because she knows she is on the edge of a controversy that will undercut her argument that I am not an ADOS ally.
It's that I am opposed to #DivestTwitter. It is anti Black men and I think it's offensive. I really would rather stay away from all of it, but one of my posts drew the attention of the Divest scene, including her. Her argument is that Divest is not against all Black men. My reply
was that I don't believe that. We argued, and then she started trolling. I mentioned something about media and ADOS and said "We need to build media infrastructure" or something like that and she said "who is we?" In this case, I include myself because I am actively involved in
doing this and have been in different ways for months. Anyway, this thread is waaaay too long and mostly I want to say thanks and I'm sorry that I am taking up any of your Sunday morning on this bs.
