Just so we're all clear: feminism does not mean "we support all women no matter what they say or do." Feminism means we work for a world that offers women equal access to autonomy, power, and authority. 1/3

This means that as feminists we are obligated to identify, criticize, and fight the people and forces attempting to delay or deny women's equal access to those things. Women (esp. white women) benefiting from the power and privilege of patriarchy are frequently its minions. 2/3

Preserving/defending the patriarchy is one of the few paths women have to be embraced and rewarded by the patriarchy. Feminism allows us to see this and know what we're seeing. And it obligates us to identify it, criticize it, and fight it. Here's to a better world. 3/3
