Since May @bxrebirth has donated 30,000 diapers to caregivers in the Bronx. This mutual aid effort has been completely grassroots funded and volunteer led: https://www.bxrebirth.org/
Last week they re-opened their donation request form to invite Bronx caregivers of small children to reach out for support again. They could only keep the form open for 37 minutes because they were overwhelmed with requests.
At this time, they only have the funds to deliver supplies to 50 families. The fact is that they will run out of funds to serve even that amount in a couple of weeks. They usually spend at least $1500 a week on supplies.
This will leave hundreds of families in the Bronx without essentials for their infants. The need is growing and our fucking elected officials aren’t responding quickly. Right now, many local grassroots groups are having to stand in that gap.

@bxrebirth has run this work on crowd-sourced financial support and while this is infuriating, it is also inspiring and we can help them continue this great and necessary work.
