For a Justice to be elected there must be an appointment by the President and confirmation from the Senate.

therefore: in 2016 the Republican majority senate blocked obama’s appointment of moderate (D) Merrick Garland with 9 months left in Obama’s term. In 2020 the still red senate is pushing for a republican replacement of RBG with 37 days until the election.

Why are we so divided? It’s like the left and the right are two completely different countries. We are ALL Americans. No matter what your party is, not only should a dying woman’s wish be honored, but especially the dying wish of someone on the highest court of the land....
