Practice at Kingston and other hospitals shows that you can have a Covid-secure approach that doesn’t make things absurdly awful for new mothers: midwives still did home visits, partners still allowed on antenatal and postnatal wards etc.
Really good @AVMikhailova is campaigning on this: it’s not about making things all precious and perfect for fussy mums but ensuring that they have the best chance of bonding with baby, looking after their own (often v precarious) mental health and recovering well from labour.
