#DYK the castle on this crest is not Windsor Castle? It’s the Castle of Castile! The crest was given to Windsor by Edward I and his wife, Eleanor of Castile and is made up of their Coat of Arms & a deer for the town.

This female mummy’s hand possibly dates from #Egypt's Fourth Dynasty, the 'Golden Age' of the Old Kingdom. Most likely brought back to the UK as a souvenir in the 19th Century & donated to the former Maidenhead Museum before the First World War.
5. Polska 🇵🇱
Portret polskiej księżniczki.

This is Marie Leczinska, Polish Princess and Queen consort of Louis XV of France. Marie was religious & well-educated. She beat 98 other Princesses chosen, serving for 42 years, making her the longest serving French Queen ever! #Poland
6. Canada 🇨🇦
Festival of Britain window.

You can see our Windsor Crest here too in our window celebrating the 1951 Festival of Britain. You can see another Windsor town crest too - Windsor, Ontario, Canada who kindly paid for the Window. #Canada #Window
7. भारत 🇮🇳
एक तलवार

This beautiful sword has chiselled engravings, which we think shows the Ram Lila legend and is possibly from North India. This sword was found in a house in #Windsor before 1959. Was it a souvenir of someone's travels? We’d love to know more about it.
#India
8. USA 🇺🇸
Photo of an American Plaque.

You’ll find this plaque in Boston, USA, recording Windsorian, later Bostonian Captain Robert Keayne, who left a bequest to Harvard in his will. Look out for a similar plaque on River Street, #Windsor where his family's butchers shop was.
