It& #39;s been a while so RM feels a little awkward in front of the screen, but it& #39;s time to film another, so here he is! He& #39;s just woken up and come to practice; he believes he& #39;s doing well to balance life with work. They& #39;re almost at the end of album prep, and have other promotions.
They& #39;ve achieved great results on Billboard [Hot 100] due to the hard work of many; it& #39;s an honour and it continues to feel good, but it does come hand in hand with confusing emotions for they& #39;re unable to experience it more definitively.
When BTS first entered the Billboard Chart [200] in 2015 [with HYYH Pt. 2], receiving spins on airplay and radio was difficult, so fans would even send flower bouquets to DJs and the agency there worked hard -- +
and even whilst RM responded in an interview "music truly transcends every barriers like language", he wondered how much he himself believed what he was saying.
RM: There are songs that are good even if you don& #39;t know the lyrics, songs that are better when you know the lyrics, and songs that are a little worse once you know the lyrics, but anyway, though lyrics are important in songs, it is foundationally an auditory & visual experience.
-- And so RM believed that if they were able to give many people joy through sound and sight, their lyrics would at least partly be fulfilled through that.
[Reaching #1 on the Hot 100] was one of their big dreams, and because he feels as though they were able to achieve something in this period -- that they were able to leave something behind -- he feels happy, warm, and thankful.
They continue to have questions about themselves and have not been able to throw away their self-condemnation, but RM believes they& #39;re now able to ask such questions with a lighter heart now.
They& #39;ve heard many a time from their friends around them -- fans, of course, but even non-fans -- that Dynamite is such an excellent song, a fun song to play while driving. So as someone who was able to help even a little for such a song to be released, RM feels super happy.
RM often thinks back to his beginning these days -- why he wanted to do music, why he began on such a path -- believing that in between having to do activities external to music-making, he& #39;s lost some of his purity of heart regarding it. +
-- And so RM& #39;s been reflecting on his younger self, when the simple action of holding a mic or writing lyrics brought such happiness, and trying to awaken his dead senses. It seems as though he should continuously be sensitive to his surroundings with his radar & #39;on& #39;.
RM recognises he still does love music -- humming to music as he walks on the pathways makes him happy, and he still feels as though he wouldn& #39;t be able to live without it -- but he still holds an ambition to return to that pure heart, that earlier mental satisfaction.
