Black people are out here literally allowing everybody else to dictate their identities.
From the one drop rule, and claiming that because white people ‘see us as the same’ that we are - trash. White people do not decide these things.
To faux reclaiming the n-word. A word that STILL triggers so many when said by the ‘wrong’ person, reclaimed my ass. The word is still used as a damn insult.
To celebrating racial stereotypes. The porn industry literally makes a killing off shit like ‘BBC’ - and there are Black people who celebrate it as if a big dick is something out of the ordinary. They’re selling the thug/dom/masc fantasy y’all.
To culture definitions; everyday - a ghetto white person is ‘trying to Black’ - not my Black. Ghetto is ghetto y’all.
Black-fishing is also a hilarious one. Because nobody is trying to look like Kelly Rowland or Lupita Nyong’o. They want to look exotic/mixed/ambiguous. Think Cassie. It’s embarrassing when people throw that word around.
Every day labels and acronyms that lump us into one entity, as if it’s all monolithic. BAME, POC, African American and so on.
