The Coming Cryptoart Bubble: A Thread for Artists

So DeFi farming hit a rough spot. People started talking about NFTs cause you can flip them. @APompliano pointed out that "digital art" is the "next big bet" and the NFT/cryptoart pundits established their positions.
Now what are you going to do, cryptoartist?

This is going to be a bubble in which fast moving artists can benefit before the collapse. Cause every bubble pops, right? Which means a downtime will follow. Take advantage now.
I hate to say this, because I've tried to promote various platforms on other chains, but this is all about platforms on the Ethereum blockchain. So start tracking gas prices and focusing your efforts there.
Note that if you're uncomfortable seeing your art flipped, hold back on minting. This bubble will be about speculators and flippers.
Also note, certain big artists that get on their high horse about flippers will be raking it in. They will not turn down that money even as they turn up their noses.
Most speculators will be focusing on platforms and leaderboards. So if you're relatively high up on a leaderboard, particularly on just one platform, focus on that platform. If you're not, start pushing your art wherever it seems most likely you can move up.

Do it now!
Think about what happened with $RARI. Lots of action on Rarible. But lots of noise as well. New "artists" employed the most basic techniques for creating "art."

You're going to need to think about marketing if you want to cut through the noise and get in on this bubble.
But also, established artists looked back through their archives to see what could be released.

The archive move is particularly smart cause that's something artists should do periodically anyway. It gives you a chance to reevaluate where you've been and where you're going.
This can be about more than money even if it's driven by money.
If you're on one of the blue chip platforms, it doesn't matter that more gets sold on Rarible. Flippers will be looking to Rarible but many will focus on SuperRare, KnownOrigin and MakersPlace. Nifty Gateway will also be huge but it's kind of its own thing.
If you haven't applied to one of the blue chip platforms, do so now. You probably won't get on or even hear back but somebody will and it will be worth your time.
Wherever you're minting, and you need to start minting, get focused and start marketing yourself. That can start with something as simple as tweeting and interacting on Twitter. Don't waste your time on crypto-enabled social networks and the like. Twitter is where it will happen.
Make sure you are clearly branded with an easy to read, easy to search, consistent name. I've been going through my Twitter follows and finding people who disappear on CryptoArtNet because they use different names and/or spellings.
If you've got a zero in your name, for example, also post your name in your bios and on your websites with a letter O version. You want to be found.
Listing your name as cryptoartist in one place and crypto artist in another may make the difference between rich ass clueless flipper buying your work or buying someone else's cause they can't find yours.
Do you have a website with links out to all your sales outlets and a blog that talks about who you are, why you make art, what's up with your art, etc? Does it have an email newsletter for that minority that will subscribe?
Do you have a http://CryptoArtNet.com  page? More people are following me all of a sudden and as soon as I'm done recruiting artists, I'm going exclusively to promoting artists with listings. Maybe sooner if things heat up quickly.
Hope to say more soon.

Gotta go to work so I'll respond to comments later.

Now go make that money!
