himiko yumeno is autistic (thread) (made by an autistic person)

RTS = OK!
we can see throughout most of the game, himiko has an extremely hard time expressing emotion. her voice is normally monotone, and her facial expressions dont really show any emotion. its common for autistic people to not know how to show emotion
she also has the firm belief that her skills are magic. she gets extremely upset when anyone tries to tell her it isnt. this shows that magic is her special interest, and hates whenever anyone tries to say theyre just tricks. many autistic people get upset when people invalidate-
-their s.i's.
additionally, himiko is always seen as 'lazy' and doesn't like to do basic things. autistic people can struggle with things like focusing, memory, time management, etc. she claims shes too lazy to even breathe sometimes. shes only focused when it comes to magic.
additionally, her info card states this. this proves my last point; that she can focus easier when it comes to magic. she can perform complicated magic, because its her special interest, but basic self-care is hard for her because she only wnats to focus on magic.
and just another headcanon w/ her sprites: i like to see this sprite as her stimming! she doesnt know what else to do with her hands, so she just does this pose.
additionally, according to her wiki, she has a different way of speaking thats not shown in the english version, which is common for autistic people! many autistic people develop a different vocabulary / way of speaking than neurotypical people.
she also has difficulty when it comes to social situations. she has stated that talking wears her out, and she, many times, seems to have "spaced out" during a conversation. this is common for autistic people aswell.
drv3 spoilers /

she also bottles up her emotions, to fit in most likely. during chapter 3, after the 3rd trial, kokichi making fun of her finally makes her spill out all of her repressed emotions and sob. all of these emotions at once most likely overwhelmed her a lot; since she
-had to be pushed to the breaking point to even show them. autistic people struggle with how to process and show emotions, and himiko is shown many times not knowing how to show her emotions.
long thread but thats all ive gathered for now! ill add on if i find anything new!
