Maria is an affiliated researcher with the @ASUBeingHuman and a Sr. Scientist at @ClaretBio. Maria uses both paleogenomics and modern genomic datasets to assess impacts of processes such as #migration, #adaptation, and #colonization on human genetic diversity, culture, and health
Her research works to #DecolonizeDNA and characterize the #functional, #adaptive, and medically relevant genetic variation and population histories of historically marginalized populations in Latin America and the Caribbean
