It was a two hire with an emphasis on Web 2.0, which totally dates me. But I always pitched in to my own demise. Colleague had maternity leave? Sure I’ll cover that area. Someone going on sabbatical, sure I’ll do that ...

And then when the new job titles stared rolling out the insanity of it. My predecessor was the Latino studies librarian she taught classes and workshops on the census...

We now have librarians with census or tech or media in their job descriptions ...so ALL of those cool projects are gone and if you have been relegated to pits of general librarianship then this thread will make sense.

My biggest issue is that is where you will find BIPOC librarians too. All generalists need to be at the table for the bigger projects and not just fielding endless emails between departments.
