Dyspraxia week is around the corner so i want to educate some people of what dyspraxia actually is coming from a dyspraxic person :
1) dyspraxia is a neurological disorder that effects an individual’s ability to plan and process motor tasks!
2) people with dyspraxia often have speech issues, and sometimes a degree of difficulty with thought and perception
3) dyspraxia or DCD means developmental co-ordination disorder. It causes children to perform less well than expected in daily activities for their age, they may appear clumsy
4) This can range from simple motor movements, such as waving goodbye, to more complex ones like sequencing steps to brush one’s teeth
5) Dyspraxia is around 3 or 4 times common in boys than girls and the condition sometimes runs in families
6) children with dyspraxia (DCD) may have problems with writing, drawing using scissors, they’re handwriting/drawings may appear scribbled and less developed compared to other children
7) dyspraxia effects concentration, following instructions, picking up new skills, making friends and self esteem
