A few thoughts about maintaining equilibrium between now and whenever we have reasonably settled election results: we need to stay grounded so that we can act. 1/
Be deliberate about your focus and engagement. Even well-meaning folks can be tone-deaf or insensitive. We each need our strength now, so don’t dissipate yours by attending to the unhelpful. 2/
Pick specific projects - phone banking, letter writing, donating and make them part of a routine. Write letters or post cards an hour a day over a cup of tea or coffee. Reward yourself each week by donating $5 (or more) to,the candidate of your choice. 3/
Take this election season one day at a time. There are going to be any number of twists and turns. Take them as they come. 4/
Draw on your anger for energy. Direct it outward toward action, not inward toward worry. 5/5
