it is 1am and I can& #39;t get it out of my head
why would lwj be awake at 3am you ask? I do not know. I have no context just neighbors playing piano in the middle of the night and falling in love over music thanks
they only manage to hear the other play once a week, maybe twice if the insomnia is really spicy. what was coincidence at first becomes something to look forward to after a while. they& #39;re both enamored with the music the other is playing.
still, it feels like it& #39;s a waiting game.
eventually, wwx just knocks on his door and they get to know each other for real. there& #39;s a spark, of course there is, and with every minute spent together it grows bigger and warmer and into something much more substantial.

two nights after their last joint piano session lwj wakes up to what sounds like Dominique Charpentier& #39;s Heartbeat followed by a cacophony of crashing sounds. He& #39;s never been out of his bed and out of his apartment this fast.
lwj finds a way too silent wwx next to a broken piano. It& #39;s three hours later when wwx finally talks of the devastating call he received about his sister’s passing. Needless to say lwj doesn& #39;t let him deal with it alone.
it& #39;s after a hard couple of months spent (mostly) together that something finally clicks into place. wwx confesses with a self-composed piece, lwj with a brand new grand piano, and the world is at least somewhat acceptable again.
they play together more often, but during more acceptable hours. contrary to popular belief (read: their stupidity) they are not the only ones living on this floor.
