/OK, here are some key points of political genius from both Trump and #ACB:

(thread)
/First, the mere fact of nominating a devout Catholic woman with 7 kids is going to result in terrible Democrat optics when they try to savage her, alienating two key voting blocs: women and Catholics.
/Second, it's no accident that Trump mentioned that ACB will be the first SCOTUS justice with school age kids--he's highlighting the tough role that working mothers fill.
/The incredibly laudatory comments by Trump and ACB about RGB were gracious and uplifting, and wildly in contrast to anything the Democrats have to say. That puts the Dems back on their heels.
/ ACB's commitment to the Constitution was a shout-out to conservatives, while her JFK-ish "my faith does not trump the law comments" (paraphrasing) hit EXACTLY the right note.
/ACB is a minivan-driving, suburban mom in a modest house, juggling a career and kids. She is incredibly well-spoken, and as the media forces all of us to learn about her, she will sway member of the demographic TO Trump and away from Biden.
/ ACB's reference to the comity between Scalia and RGB was a direct dig against Democrats who think riots are a good solution to political disagreement, once again putting Dems on their heels and striking exactly the right tone.
/ All in all, both Trump and ACB performed at a brilliant level of political excellence.
/ If the Democrats had any sense at all, they would realize they are fighting a losing battle, they would completely defer from attacking ACB personally, and they would instead hang every argument on the Merrick Garland angle.
/ But Democrats have no sense, and they won't be able to help themselves. Their misogyny and God-hating bigotry will shine through, and it may win Trump the election.

It's glorious.
