okay i think i need y& #39;all& #39;s opinions on this ych auction!!! (see the whole thread for a poll probably)
most auctions i see going around are threads, so people can come back and bid higher if someone outbids them.
HOWEVER my initial plan was something different-

-i was gonna go with a format similar to that of a vickrey auction (check out the wiki for more info) where you submit a bid, but you dont see anyone else& #39;s bids. whoever bids the highest wins, but they pay the second highest bid amount. what im unsure about is-
-if you& #39;d rather see other people& #39;s bids? with the vickrey auction format, i was just going to set up forms for people to fill out that only i can see (i was going to make a form for slot 1 aka the center of the piece, and then another for slots 2-7, the surrounding figures)-
-with this format, everyone bids once and that& #39;s their set price. i wont share current highest bids, and ppl cant submit more than once. either they bid the highest and win, or others bid more, only the first bidder then cant counter the second. so, what do y& #39;all think?
part of me is leaning more heavily toward the vickrey auction format, because it& #39;s a bit more concise and clean, but i worry if people will find it unfair that they cant come back and bid more if someone outbids them!
i guess i will also say if i do a thread-based auction i& #39;ll also put up an auto-buy at some point? probs not right off the bat, but after a good chunk of bidding time i might just slap it up there
