I am thankful that Micro-aggression is being openly discussed and many POC who have experienced it and was told to get over it are coming forward with their stories. But let& #39;s take a step back and think for a moment, what if BTS didn& #39;t have the reach and #BTSARMY?

What if they were just an Asian POC group spreading messages of hope in UN at a trying time to everyone? What if they were just another group of young artists trying their own way to make a difference? What if, they were any of us?
Would their worth be any less?

Micro-aggression goes unchecked, unpunished because people chalk it up to jokes. But if it& #39;s an offensive joke or slur (Ex: Ching Chong, "N" word as non-Black person, Stinky Curry etc.), then no matter how funny it may seem, it& #39;s not funny to the race being targeted.

No one& #39;s identity, efforts or skin colour are there for you to joke about. Not everyone have to like everyone or their work, but people& #39;s dignity is not for anyone else to trash on. And no, they don& #39;t have to excuse the offense and give anyone a free pass for that.

When someone is offended and they inform, the right way is to apologize and learn. Not trying to excuse that action. Just because someone got away with Micro-aggression so far, doesn& #39;t mean POC owe them a free pass for life. FIND NEW JOKES! It& #39;s not funny anymore.

There are POC in different countries who are told to "Take it easy", "It& #39;s just a joke" when they told people that a joke is offensive. Silencing their voice while continuing the offense is not going to cut it anymore. I& #39;m sorry but their dignity is worth more than "Fun Time"

Since becoming #BTSARMY and being part of a global family, I have learned a lot of things I didn& #39;t know about. It& #39;s okay. That& #39;s just ignorance. But I kept an open mind and when someone corrected me, I apologized and never repeated again.

For example, I was told by K-ARMY that we should not use "Heart-eu" unless we are speaking in Korean, because it may sound cute because Hobi said it that way, but Korean people have been mocked for their accent and it& #39;s offensive to them. I never repeated it since then.

When Italian ARMY said "Mafia" has a very painful past history and even in joke or fantasy, never to use it. Again, I never used that word. I didn& #39;t try to teach them what they should get over with. I learned myself. Because they are who was offended.

Again, I am not talking about Art here. I am not talking about who should like what music or appreciate what art. It& #39;s an artist& #39;s prerogative to produce what they want to produce. We can like it or move on elsewhere. I don& #39;t expect everyone to love what I love.
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="๐" title="Violettes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Violettes Herz"> #BTSARMY
What I am expressing here is some people justifying their disdain and obvious stereotype coloured with racism with more semantics and platitudes as if POC don& #39;t deserve the same respect or voice to talk and when they do, they can be silenced with patronizing Pat.
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="๐" title="Violettes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Violettes Herz"> #BTSARMY
To that, I say, NO.
