In announcing the nomination, Trump turns to Barrett and says: "I looked and I studied, and you are very eminently qualified for the job. You are going to be fantastic."
Trump notes that Barrett would be the first mother of school-aged children ever to serve on the Supreme Court.

Trump highlights Second Amendment rights, religious liberty, public safety and equal protection in his nomination speech.

Barrett praises the legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and notes that the flag in front of the Supreme Court is still flying at half-staff.
