another measure is what women believe they can do. Every conversation with my grandmother hammers home how my decisions to go to grad school, to be financially independent, to travel the world (pre-covid), to be unmarried/without children are a luxury her generation didn& #39;t have.
also, I cannot emphasize enough how much access to reliable and affordable birth control allows me to do the work I do and live the life that I want. Choosing how, if, and when you want to have kids is just... so integral to women& #39;s well-being.
