I cannot overstate the emotional drain of having to explain to people, over and over, that we are *still* in a pandemic and no we will not be attending your party / wedding / shower / event.
Everyone has just gotten bored here and decided to go back to life as usual. Kissmate has to keep explaining, "if I give covid to Ana, [he] will die" and people are so baffled by it. Like... I'm supposed to just hurry up and do it.
It just culls the disabled people from the herd, right, so what's the big deal? (No one here is talking about long-term health impacts from it.) Oh, Ana is disabled? Weird. Well, that's a shame, but it is what it is, eh?

His cousin is throwing a massive combination birthday + family reunion (indoor, no masks) and is justifying it on the grounds that "we had to skip so many celebrations this year!" so that's... that's fun.
There's a tremendous amount of stress involved in wondering if you'll need to bury your entire family in a few weeks time, and whether they'll appreciate you staying alive to wield the shovel for them, as it were.
You do realize you're telling me to hurry up and die, right? https://twitter.com/DarrenLeeKirby/status/1310084721762861057
