i love you like the sun came out, midori’s kidnapping: a theory thread (not clickbait!)

really what’s most important for these theories are mostly WHY was he kidnapped and WHAT HAPPENED during his kidnapping. WHO DID IT doesn’t really matter but i’d also like to theorise on that bc this is fun :D

i started a thread before this one abt the same thing and it made me realize some stuff, so this is a rewritten version of it. i’d like to note that another fic ‘the dangerous game’ is gonna appear in this thread, so if you haven’t read it i highly recommend it!

and ree i might be totally off but if you have read it and snuck it in your fic… wow… just wow *applause*

anyways let’s start with WHAT HAPPENED. we know midori got tortured. wohoo congrats but i’d like to think it’s not just “torture”

if you read into what todd thought back to when he helped out midori out in chap 6 it’s actually clearly spelled out. it’s a sweet lil ol parallel

and i kid you not, todd thought back to his training with endeavor

he could see himself in the way midori was hurt. closed off, didn’t really want to interact with anyone, put on a fake smile etc. todd was like that in canon too

i’d like to think he got kidnapped to be trained but it’s not exactly clear to us readers

even tho ree chose an omniscient narrator, the narrator only has focus on todd and doesn’t once go into midori’s pov, meaning it’ll stay a mystery until he spills the tea. let’s quickly switch to WHY he was kidnapped

this is where ‘the dangerous game’ starts to come in. in tsukithewolf’s fic midori actually got kidnapped to be trained to become a villain. tho that was for different reasons than what ree probably pulled out here (i don’t want to spoil too much so just read it instead ok?)

moving on to WHO kidnapped midori. well we don’t know in ilyltsco. BUT it has some parallels to tdg AGAIN. both fics describe that midori got taken out of literally nowhere right in front of bakugou’s nose. well we’re told WHO in tdg but again SPOILERS (just read it pls ;-;)

i have some more parallels to convince you more :)

in ilyltsco bakugou saved midori. well bakugou is just abt doing that in tdg’s sequel: strike back

in ilyltsco we’re also told that midori has an injury on his neck. guess what it’s the same for tdg!

i don’t remember more parallels but if you have some pls tell me!
