Comments like these tend to share simplistic solutions. It actually makes matters worse and don’t help the mental illness discussion we should be having

Why cant you finish one thing before jumping to the next?

Having anxiety manifests differently in different people, but here’s mine..(always seek a professional)

I always have a plan B, C for everything

I’m overly organised, and it’s a mental toll triple checking everything all the time

Constantly thinking I’ve done something wrong
If someone takes longer than the usual to reply X I spent a good chunk of time revisiting every action, every interaction to ensure I haven’t done anything wrong

It’s tiring, my brain never disconnects,
. I wouldn’t wish this to anyone

Therapy helps understanding the triggers
Therapy helps you understand whether that’s something you have vs something that’s causing it

It helps you understand you’re not the only one

It helps name your triggers, and recognise its anxiety... it’s not you

Understanding it’s liberating
So when someone like that tweet says: You need discipline the mind

It’s like saying to someone with depression: “Just get out of the bed! It’s that easy”

It’s the same simplistic solution like flat earth, and many others who disrespect a whole heap of research/ppl/professionals
