anytime anyone in animal control hears “rescue group” we internally scream/cringe. the amount of “rescue groups” we end up charging with animal cruelty (yes even non profit ones) is astounding. don’t take a rescue at social media face value
We’re literally trained on what to look for when looking at a “rescue” social media page to spot red flags that could be disguising/hiding signs of hoarding or poor living conditions
and this isn’t meant to diss actual proper healthy, well run rescues! Most of them ARE! But the fact that little to NO oversight exists for domestic (and exotic in most states!) rescues means it’s basically the Wild West
