The claim that "everyone" saying they& #39;ve experienced misogynoir from Black men means they are pathologically violent is interesting, because I& #39;ve seen Black men talk about how they& #39;ve been harmed by women (including in childhood) and be told they& #39;re "bashing women."
I& #39;ve tweeted threads about the physical and sexual abuse of Black boys by Black women and had folks call me "dangerous" and say I hate Black women for posting research that indicates women as primary perpetrators of these violences.
There& #39;s an investment in the narrative that only men commit violence within Blackness (or even that it& #39;s primarily men) and that women are only victims. There& #39;s an investment in silencing men who speak about abuse they& #39;ve experienced from women in child and adulthood.
And if we think about the rates that research shows that men and boys are sexually abused and physically/emotionally abused by women, it stands to reason that some folks have a lot to gain from that silence because they know what they would say if they were given space to speak.
