In a recent Axios interview many journalists considered hard-hitting, Trump lied 100 times in 30 minutes. I cataloged the lies here. Do you know how many times he'll lie during a 2-hour debate, with his political life at stake? So many times that fact-checking will be impossible.
Any presidential debate involving Trump can be nothing more than a national platform for him to lie at his usual rate (3-5 times a minute) for 2 hours—a level of deceit *so* pathological and even sociopathic that no media outlet has the fact-checking apparatus to undo the damage.
We used to think of presidential debates as intended to inform the public. There can be no argument by Democrats or the media that this upcoming debate is intended to *inform*. Rather, we're going to try to figure out after the debate how to *mitigate* the damage Trump just did.
Media has decided to keep pretending that it can fact-check Donald Trump, *years* after it's conclusively been proven that it can't. Giving Daniel Dale of CNN 5 minutes to disprove Trump's worst 12 lies still leaves 200+ lies from the debate wholy untouched.

This is *dangerous*.
