While talking with some friends our conversation included the aggressiveness of new fans (so-called stans) towards the +30s fans. How many friends we have lost in the past year due to that attitude. So I& #39;d like to address this.

For that, my account will be public for 6h.

First, I would like to remind you that fandoms exist since forever. Star Trek has a fandom, fanworks etc since it came out & its fans still engage in fandom activities & talks.

Meaning, the internet didn& #39;t birth fandoms, it gave fans the ability to readily connect faster.

Second, there is nothing & #39;young& #39; in a series. It is approved & made by 30-50 y/o people.

Your favourite scripts? Yeah, a 40+ y/o proudly wrote them.

Several 40 y/os act in them. 30-50 y/os hold the damn cameras, find the locations, make the props, pick the actors etc.

Third, it& #39;s all about money. That& #39;s how everything starts.

Sorry guys but according to how to sell a tv product three categories exist that appeal to each production.

Kids, teens & reality escaping adults.

Some products can target to 2 categories or more. Ex. Pokemon

Fourth, you cannot & should not control or rule a fandom or its creators, you join it bcs it offers you something & you want to offer something to others.

Young, old, phones or laptops do not make a difference. Middle-age and teen-drama are ridiculous at best.

Final

Fandoms are not a school or your workplace. You& #39;ve nothing to prove or feel entitled about.

If you can make a puzzle, smile & put it in the attic you get the concept of fandom.

So let other people be & focus on what your actions bring forward to it & to everyone.
