So....quick story about how I almost got divorced this morning.

So 5 years ago today I married my best friend.

Yes, I outkicked my coverage and yes we did get married in the middle of the college football season, which is actually a brilliant play..... (1)

You see, we picked 9/26 because as a LSU fan, I felt pretty good that LSU/Syracuse would be a win & an early game. Fournette went for 244 yards

And her as a Alabama fan, they had UL Monroe that week, so she felt good as well. Tide got a shut out win.

Wedding was perfect & every anniversary since on 9/26 went off without a hitch until this year....

Our 5 year anniversary happens to fall on the opening weekend of SEC Football.

This was going to lead to an awkward conversation in the Burns Household regarding evening plans (3)

So the wife hits me up this morning with the following declaration.

“Don’t you even think about making plans for after you get off air today. This is our 5 year anniversary and I’ve got something special planned”

This is where I almost got divorced...(4)

As soon as she told me we had plans, I hit her with this look of stunned disbelief. Plans today?

I mean clearly, she knew for the entire offseason I’ve been looking for this date! The return of SEC Football

I quickly regained composure & calmly asked her what we had planned (5)

And she drops the bomb.....

“I’ve got us a babysitter for the kids, cuz you and I are doing nothing but drinking and watching football all day long.....and you better hydrate because Bama has the night game”

My god I am a lucky man.
