Doing my job data collection for the week. At a glance, it seems like there are more jobs than expected this year for so early in the season (I've logged about 125; last season's data was 335 in total). BUT it seems as if there are far more jobs overseas than in the US.
Again, this is just preliminary impressions and we'll have to wait and see how it pans out in the coming months, but it seems like at least early on these numbers are being boosted by cluster hires happening in Korea, China, and Hong Kong.
If there are lesser-known positions specific to Asian Studies topics opening up outside of N America (especially in other languages I can't read!) please help better round-out this data by submitting it to my online form! It takes an online village! đź“Š https://twitter.com/paularcurtis/status/1276134426473377792?s=20
