Thread: We have a serious problem in Ireland. Gender Self ID was sneaked in without public consultation & most people haven’t a clue that a man, any man, can now fill out an A4 page, declare himself a woman and be granted access to women’s toilets, changing rooms and other 1/
private women’s spaces. The trans and pro-prostitution lobby in Ireland has placed itself within all progressive leftist groups and movements. TRAs turn up in Abortion Rights groups, anti-racism groups, environmental and climate change groups, in all feminist groups and in all 2/
left leaning political parties. And once there, what do they do? Well, centre themselves and the ideology, of course. Class politics, poverty, housing and health and education deficits don’t get discussed in leftist groups until pronouns, access to cosmetic surgery and how 3/
stunning and brave trans women are gets dealt with. In women’s groups, language is policed until women are sidelined and trans identified males are centred. Perfectly worthy movements are derailed and groups divided. Policy has already been captured. The words ‘woman’ and ‘women’
have already been removed from cervical cancer screening literature. Women who spoke up about this, in a country which has recently suffered a cervical screening scandal of epic proportions, are denounced and harassed by TRAs. 4/
Women (and we are many) who disagree with all of this, hide in the shadows, talk in secret groups and fear for their livelihoods and their families were they ever to be denounced by the TRAs. And now a homicidal abuser of women, with clearly stated aims to rape and murder 5/
women, including his own mother who had suffered years of attacks by him and has had to go into hiding, has declared himself a woman but the media have had a court imposed gag order placed upon them such that they couldn’t report that this is a male. Even though this person 6/
represented a clear and present danger to any woman with whom he came into contact. He has, thankfully, been re arrested and charged with making threats to kill but is now demanding that he be put in a women’s prison. Presumably so that he can have access to the female victims 7/
that he has declared he wants. Another male sexual offender, a rapist, is already in the women’s estate in Limerick. Despite much correspondence from women with politicians, the @NWCI and the media, there has been radio silence about this. Apart from @sundayworld and a local 8/
Dublin newspaper, no one reported on this disgusting state of affairs, that a man, a rapist was allowed to declare himself a woman and has been housed with some of the most vulnerable women in our society because he’s a man and what he says, goes. 9/

that they’re in the wrong body, that they can take puberty blockers, hormones eventually and then are on a path to crumbling bones, sterility, lack of any sexual urges, heart and cognitive problems. Not to mention girls having their perfectly healthy breasts cut off. 12/

in fact, boys. This ideology is extremely regressive. A few short years ago we had moved to a place where people could wear what they wanted and look how they wanted a have them interests they wanted and were not shamed for that. Additionally, many of the girls who are being 14/
told that they’re girls are actually just lesbians or bisexual girls who are trying to explore their sexuality. Lesbian had, briefly, stopped being a dirty word here in Ireland but, no more. The only lesbians allowed to be out and proof these days are the ones with penises 15/
when lesbian girls and women say that they are attracted only to people of the same sex as themselves i.e. women, they are called bigots and denounced as vagina-fetishists by trans identified males who insist that they too are lesbians. This ideology is deeply homophobic. 16/
A range of women in Ireland who’ve spoken out a tiny bit about the rank misogyny at the heart of this have been publicly denounced and had campaigns of abuse thrown at them in an effort to silence them. And silence them it does. Even in the face of a series of 16/
pictures of trans-identified males being beamed onto famous public buildings in celebration of history-making Irish women. Women and children in Ireland have learned well, over the generations, that they are low down in the hierarchy. We have now swapped 18/
one set of men in dresses as our overlords first another. Women in Ireland need help to fight this anti-factual, misogynistic ideology that is putting back women’s liberation by 50 years. We need you to know that we are many and that we are scared to speak out openly. We need 19/
the media to speak up, to start reporting on this, to speak to women, to look out for children. We need our international sisters to help us too. Don’t let the lie that Self ID is just fine by us continue to be propagated by these people. There’s no such thing as pregnant 20/
people. There are only pregnant women. Children are not born in the wrong body. Men and women should be able to wear what they like, have the interests they like, name themselves as they please, love who they like, without discrimination or shame. But men cannot become women. 21/
Women must be able to organise as a sex class. Women’s private spaces must be kept solely for women. Children and teens must be allowed to find themselves, laugh and love and have a good time. And we need the fact that we are not ok over here broadcast far and wide. Help us. 22/
