On the Partey Situation:

Simeone does not count on Thomas as a regular starter this season despite his quality so apparently he's open to seeing Thomas leave.

He wants a South American backbone at the club which had lead to him to success in Simeone's earlier days.

As time goes on, Atleticos stance on Partey could weaken and Simeone is desperate to get Lucas Torreira in and has called him a few times as well as called Arteta to assure this can happen.

Financially, Atletico are strapped so they have to be creative in terms of sales [2]

Atletico cant spend more than 25% of income made from future sales as a result and it's why there is a deal to be done sooner or later

It's been mooted that Arsenal have two Options that they're exploring and are hoping Atletico agree to it before they go to the last resort [3]

Option 1: To Swap Torreira with Partey with Arsenal paying the remaining Value next summer guaranteed.

Option 2: Since it's Parteys desire to leave, there is a talk of loaning Partey for an initial fee of €20 and paying the obligated fee of €30m next summer.

The last resort will be that Arsenal will activate Partey's release clause outright in the end regardless.

So to summarise, @Arsenal and Partey know that they will see him wear the red and white in North London this window.
