this reminds me of the WaPo op-Ed about the hiring differences b/w RBG and Kavanaugh: RBG has done more on civil rights than K probably ever will, but K actually has a comparatively diverse clerkship (vs RBG’s *one* black clerk).

anyways, this is a larger rant about how POC are treated in disciplines that are ostensibly studying inequality / culture / politics and yet...are often the most oblivious to the fucked up dynamics playing out in their own depts
