FF: The #bitcoin whitepaper has multiple references to the term mediation, with particular emphasis on disintermediation, the removal of middle-men using distributed computing. Ethereum only references this once when referring to #bitcoin , but 47 references to Decentralisation
So ask yourself, are you developing a product which re-incarnates yourself as a "decentralised" intermediary, or removing yourself from the process entirely by developing a protocol? The former is easy, everyone is doing it and uninteresting at best, the latter is the hard part
