Disclaimer: I am not a nutritionist nor I am an expert but I do know that I am an expert on my own body, and I am able to listen to myself. Just take this thread with a grain of salt and do your own research or meet your dietitian before trying to do anything from this thread!
Disclaimer 2: I do not diet anymore, I do not detox anymore, I do not do all of those stuff to my body because I learned that my body is capable of doing it. This is also not about being skinny but being able to respect my body and how it works!
1. Intuitive Eating - I now eat whatever I want, as long as it's plant-based, has a good balance of protein, carbs, fibre and healthy fats. I use this instead of calorie counting because food breaks down differently, especially since I am vegetarian.
TW // Eating Disorder
I am also recovering from an eating disorder so this is a good way for me to enjoy and learn about food without having to nitpick or over obsess over what I eat. I used to love feeling my bones after waking up but glad I don't do it much anymore!

I also don't feel bad for craving a piece of cake or wanting to eat a chocolate bar. Once I started listening to more of these tiny cues and hints from my body, I started eating less sugar and was able to divide a chocolate bar throughout the week instead of eating all at once.
These tiny hints and cues are important because your body is capable of telling you what it needs and it's a very personal thing. It takes time to learn about how it works and how it's done but trust me, you will be alright!
This can be a bit intimidating for some people who have a bad relationship with food, but for me, I learned that the way for me to learn about food and how it affects my body, I actually need to eat. That's how my body is able to tell me if something is wrong or not.
Eating this way for the past couple of weeks helped me a lot and I rarely feel hungry or lack energy anymore. I also can wake up easily in the morning without my alarm anymore! The only things I schedule are my supplements, I take vitamin C with food for better absorption!
2. FUN OBSERVATION I MADE IS- I am able to exert and use more energy and strength during my workouts when I eat intuitively. It used to be hard for me to do yoga in the morning even tho been doing it for years but now, I can use more space and energy while doing it!
I also am able to sneak in a short @blogilates pilates session in the evening before I proceed to fast-walk on my treadmill. Most of my workouts are just 20-30 minutes, and I do it twice a day, which gives variety and makes it exciting. CASSEY IS THE BEST COACH EVER PLS!
This intuitive eating thing and the workouts surprisingly went hand in hand for me, because I was afraid of being sluggish after eating more than when I used to restrict myself and down water. I find this helped me stay strong throughout my workouts more! FOOD = ENERGY Y'ALL!
By intuitive eating, I learned that my body is also kinda "intermittent fasting" naturally because when I was younger till now, I can't have breakfast till 11am or else I'll be nauseous. I do yoga first and am able to wait an hour before feeling hungry for brunch???
3. ACV - A month ago, I tried ACV for just weight loss but honestly, nowadays I just drink it because I want to and I like it. I take it once in the morning and once at night, together with my probiotics. Because I eat plant-based, I have more phytic acid content in my body.
While a smaller amount of phytic acid can be very good for the body, a larger amount can inhibit other nutrients and not allow them to be absorbed by our body. By taking ACV water, I am allowing my body to absorb better since ACV can reduce the amount of phytic acid!
I also take a Vegan pea-protein shake with honey as a snack instead of workout meal, cause I learned that immediately eating after a workout for me makes me bloated and spikes my insulin, so I take it as a snack a few hours before! Also, protein takes 48 hours to absorb anyways.
4. I STOPPED USING THE SCALE! I now measure instead because it's safer and less obsessive for me. The scale isn't the ultimate tool as I have heavy and dense bones, and my muscles are fairly big due to years of yoga, so it's not fair to my body that I judge it by that.
Why I prefer waist measurement is because visceral fat is more dangerous compared to fat in other places but also, I don't wanna be skinny, I just wanna be able to get myself to a good ratio! By intuitive eating and intuitive workouts, I was able to progress much faster!
5. Last but not least, I have to accept the way my body is. Only through this, I can learn about it and treat it with respect. After years of food and exercise abuse, I finally just stopped everything. I learned that chugging a glass of water for my craving was not good.
Once I went through this phase, I started seeing results. For some, it may not be as amazing but for me, I did this without having to go through strict dieting or a strict workout routine. This works for maintaining weight, losing weight or gaining weight, whatever you want!
Again- This is not an end-all-be-all thing and you should take this routine with a grain of salt. These are just my results of doing it for not even a whole month and I wish to continue this for as long as I can.
If you want- I can talk about my results and keep updating you guys monthly or weekly about it, I don't actually mind!
Here are some of the sources I learned from!
