analysis of bts’s ways of painting: a thread

//im not a professional painter, i just happen to like to paint and read about art so i thought i could give everyone a bit of insight and my views on ways the members paint, also i got inspired by @/filteragustd’s post//

n e ways
yoongi a simple-but-with-depth man

he relies on big and harsh brush strokes, very simplistic colour palette. bc painting is about capturing a moment and expressing, he’s the type to paint what he feels, maybe atm or a certain point in his life that he’d like to rmb
as @/filteragustd pointed out, the way they paint mirrors their lyricism. yoongi is straightforward but he still hides a lot of stories in between the lines. he gets the point across, yet he leaves space for people to think deeply and interpret it how they want. colours all hold+
different meanings for him.
golden jungkook has every trick up his sleeves

jungkook definitely is born with talents. hes the type to see an image, visualise it in his head, then draw from there, so his work is half observational half interpretational. its def not accurately realistic, whch is good imo. he-
has good skills, can pick an impressive colour palette, a good composition as his paintings dont look ‘out of place’. his style varies a bit, the emotions vary a bit more. he’s versatile, like the songs he composed, they’re all heavily based off of his own feelings. may i add,
when i visualise his songs as humans, they all have this pretty, shiny(?), sparkly vibe. i personally think jungkook is still finding his own style a bit, or maybe he’s trying out everything. either way, i like how he’s able to bring diff emotions into play for diff purposes.
namjoon and post-impressionism

ok i may be a lil bit biased about post-impressionistic art but joon and pointillism is sexc afff. pointillism is painting with small, distinct dots of colours next to eo to see the effect of them on eo. bc post-impressionism was all about see how-
colours react, behave towards eo. like how orange pops way more when placed next to blue, or red to green. it’s a delicate technique and def not in anyway easy. joon’s attention to details n his passion for art never fails me, as u can see hes been to exhibitions n done research+
also not @ the way i immediately think of georges seurat’s a sunday afternoon and joon and tae apparently went to see it with eo.
joon’s painting’s not done yet but based on the little sketch lines n how it is rn, he has a good sense of space and dimension. this painting reminds me of mono. he stays true to one colour, no need to overflow with information, but deepen it with tones.
taehyung’s n his vincent van gogh agenda

i LOVE love vincent van gogh and admire him to the max. i wonder if tae’s art style changed over time, but for the paintings he’d shown us. he’s a bit like jungkook, but heavier on the interpretation side. his are quite abstract. despite-
his massive love for van gogh, i’d say he’s more surrealistic than post-impressionistic. surrealism is all ab drawing from the unconscious mind for creativity. he sees the world, interpret it his own ways, and express the way he feels.
jin’s impressive creative mind

it’s usually hard me to come up with a brand new image and just draw it. jin’s quite simple, he imagines then he gets to work. sometimes theres no need for a long thought process behind a painting. art just for the sake of art. also can we+
take a moment and appreciate the combination of orange and blue in jin’s painting. i just love a good ol’ combination of complementary colours when i see one. i’d say he’s quite in his comfort zone, he doesnt take painting sooo seriously that he plans or researches, painting-
should be a comforting thing and that’s what it is for him. has an inspiration or a certain brain wave then puts it down, straight to the point. he doesnt care and his art is very free, as u can see.
and that is it for this thread, its been more than long enough. this is just my view on the paintings bts had shown to us. i obviously am not in their heads so we’ll never know for sure their inspirations, but art is interpretation so take this, and interpret how u want!
i cant wait to see hobi’s and jimin’s works if they have any, but what i’d say is that bts’s style realy represent themselves

my paintings r heavily inspired by post-impressionism and american realism so i may hit a few points and miss others with diff art movements.
also,,this is my first real thread,,,
