Thread with info for tomorrow (Saturday, Sep. 26):

A violent far-right group will be holding a rally at Delta Park in North Portland, beginning at noon.

In response, multiple counter-demonstrations are planned in various parts of the city.

The choice of Delta Park for the rally is particularly charged, as the park stands on what used to be the city of Vanport. Vanport was Oregon's second-largest city, and the center of the state's Black community, until it was destroyed in a flood in 1948.

Several counter-actions are planned in response to Saturday's far-right gathering at Delta Park.

- 11:30am: rally at the Vanport Historical Marker (please be aware this location is very close to Delta Park)

- 12pm: "Bloom" community event at Peninsula Park

(cont.)
- 12:30pm: Speaker Jam at Irving Park

- 2pm: car caravan at PCC Cascade
Please be aware of your surroundings and be aware of the heightened risk of hate crimes and other forms of violence this weekend. Assess your own risk level and choose the events you attend accordingly, or stay home if that's the best option for you.
