I’ve been saying for months that Judge Barrett’s adoptions were going to be called into question if she were nominated to the Supreme Court.

Honestly didn’t see it happening, you know, before she was actually nominated.
I don’t even know where I’m going with this. I had repeatedly said that I hoped I was wrong. I’m really sad that I was, seemingly, right.
Leave the kids out of this.
Judge Barrett’s daughter was wearing 0-3 month clothes at 14 months because she was so malnourished. She has explicitly said this. Now her daughter is developmentally normal and is a high school student.
I just don’t see the point of this. It reeks of desperation more than anything else, to be frank.
Anyhow I know a lot of adoptive parents follow me, including transracial adoptive parents. My own father and aunt were adopted as newborns. I have faith you’re all doing your absolute best as parents and I can’t imagine how seeing this discourse makes you feel.
You’d think the one thing that both “sides” could agree on would be “giving children who need homes especially after a natural disaster is a good thing” but I guess this is The World We Live In Now
There’s a big difference between “I disagree with a person’s judicial philosophy” and “I’m going to suggest, without a lick of evidence, that this person TRAFFICKED CHILDREN”
I’d like to clarify that I was worried about this issue because I am a Madonna stan and she had a bit of legal drama surrounding her adoption of her son David from Malawi. And Madonna can’t change laws.
